If you run a children’s activity business, then chances are you’re busy!
There’s customer messages to reply to, equipment to clean and pack, booking numbers to check, you need to post on your socials, practice your activities….
Not to mention the days when you’re actually out there running your classes.
You’re really busy, but you’re standing still.
Repeating the same thing term after term.
It’s so easy to get stuck in the day-to-day essential tasks.
You started your business with such excitement and optimism. You did your training, organised your equipment, opened your bookings… and you haven’t stopped since.
Stuck in the hamster wheel going nowhere.
It’s a common trap to fall into for small business owners. You’re wearing all the hats. It’s hard! And if this is you, you’re not alone.
I’m sure you have a dream destination though, something that you’re striving for?
I know exactly what it’s like. I’ve been there, running classes myself.
Now, my job is to support our amazing team of franchisees across South Wales, and helping them to build their dream business.
I’m here to tell you that you can make a change that will start to get things moving towards your dream goal.
And it is super simple.
You need to just dedicate some time every week, distraction free.
So that you can work on the things that will help you get more customers through the door. That will help you improve your customer experience. And that will help you improve your business profitability.
So, how do you do it?
All you need is 60 to 90 minutes every week.
Small, consistent actions that build up over time and push you forward.
There are three tips that will guarantee your success!
Number one
Work out a time each week that you know you can set aside 60 to 90 minutes and put it in your diary, and honour it. If you don’t turn up, you’re still on that hamster wheel.
Number two
No distractions!
This is really important.
Your brain takes longer to get back on task with Every. Single. Distraction.
So that means absolutely no phone. Turn it off! Leave it in a different room!
Don’t have extra tabs open on your laptop. Just have the one thing that you’re working on. No emails, no booking system, no socials.
Our brains are so easily distracted, we need to help ourselves by putting barriers in the way.
Number three.
Whatever you do, don’t arrive for your 60 to 90 minute session without a plan. You wouldn’t rock up to your classes without a plan. So don’t do it yourself here either.
Have an end goal in mind.
If it’s part of a bigger task, break that down into chunks that you can complete in each of your 60 to 90 minute sessions.
That’s it. That really is all it takes.
Book in your time, no distractions, have a plan.
Small, consistent actions moving you towards your dream goal.
You might be thinking that you can’t afford the time, I’m here to tell you, you can’t afford not to. You may just need to get creative!
To get you started I’m going to give you your plan for session 1.
Bring a notepad and pen and write down all the things floating around in the back of your mind that you never get round to.
The things that move from this weeks to do list, to next week, and the next week…
Put those things in order of priority.
Which one is going to get you the biggest win in the quickest time?
That’s priority number one.
One more tip.
Spend the last 5 minutes each week jotting down what you’re going to work on the next time, so you’re never wasting time thinking about what to do.
So, what’s your dream goal? What are you trying to achieve?
Grab your diary right now and book an appointment with yourself every week from now until Christmas.
22 weeks from now.
Just imagine where you could be by then.
