Mini Professors is an award-winning educational programme for children from the ages of 2 to 11 years old. Allowing franchisees to inspire children through science programmes in nursery and school settings. In addition, franchisees can earn extra income through parent and child classes, after-school clubs, parties, and holiday camps. Our theme tune’s opening line ‘Science is all around us’ encourages children to think about, and explore the world around them. Children have a thirst for knowledge, and can understand scientific principles explained in simple terms with fun experiments in which they can touch, see and hear to help them understand.

Do I need to be a Scientist to be a Mini Professors Franchisee?

Absolutely not! What we look for is passion in our franchisees - passion to work with children, a passion to learn, and a passion to grow. The 72 base lesson plans range from, dinosaurs, volcanoes, plants, space, polymers and lots more. All of the topics come with easy-to-follow experiments, fun videos and books to read, as well as a detailed introduction to follow, so no topic is too daunting even for those who are not scientifically trained.

Tracy and her team at Leicester South are outstanding at running Mini Professors classes and holiday clubs. Our 5 year old loves going and the wide range of engaging and fun activities and topics covered are perfect for our very enthusiastic learner! Songs, games, hands on experiments and explorations of science in action, creative making activities, outdoor investigations in the beautiful and biology rich botanic gardens as well worksheet, sensory, group and individual activities make this the best group he goes to. They even teach sign language to do with science. The quality of the materials and range resources used is great too. Tracy maintains a calm and safe atmosphere to the group as well being excellent at managing the children’s behaviour to make sure the classes are fun for all. We can’t recommend them enough!!!!

A Week in the Life of a Franchisee

Here’s Lee’s week, running Mini Professors Weymouth:

Monday

Admin day! Time to catch up on emails, send invoices, and keep a close eye on finances. She also gets the week’s social media scheduled and ticks off any little jobs to keep everything running smoothly.

Tuesday

Into a nursery in the morning for a fun, hands-on science session. After a quick admin catch-up at home, it’s straight into an after-school club from 3.30–4.30pm.

Wednesday

Two preschool classes in her WOW venue, then onto a nursery. In the afternoon, her class leader runs an after-school club, while Lee takes a step back for lesson planning and preparation.

Thursday

A nursery session first thing, then she spends some time reaching out to nurseries and schools to build long-term, consistent partnerships.

If she’s working at the weekend, she’ll take the afternoon off!

Friday

Fridays are flexible! Sometimes Lee will run a school assembly to showcase Mini Professors, or delivers a school workshop. If there aren’t any assemblies or workshops planned, then it’s a day off!

Lee’s assistant steps in to prepare the WOW venue for the following week, while her class leader runs an after-school club.

Weekends

Saturday is Party day! Sometimes Lee is leading, other times her party leader is in charge. Either way, it’s a whirlwind of science fun, experiments, and excited children.

Sundays are family days.
