Stage 3: Story Stars (from 24 months) explores first phonics for early reading fun. Explore letters and sounds for early reading as Phonic Fox introduces a new phoneme (letter sound) and grapheme (letter shape) every week.

Stage 4: Reading Recruits (for 3-5 years) prepares each child for learning to read confidently at school. The final stage in the Reading Fairy journey. When children complete the final term of Reading Recruits they will be ready for learning to read at school.

Evidence shows that phonics is key to a child’s successful reading journey and plays a central role in our Reading Fairy classes. But it is only one factor. Other critical reading skills needed alongside phonics include: rich language experiences, a wide vocabulary, comprehension (reading for meaning), sharing books and enjoying a range of fiction, non fiction and poetry books.

Children who enjoy reading for pleasure are more likely to do well academically in all subjects (including Maths!), have a wide vocabulary to express themselves clearly, be more accepting of other people and cultures, and gain an improved sense of well-being. Reading Fairy classes attend to all aspects of early reading through our unique pre-school programme.

Sarah is such an amazing group leader. She is kind, charismatic, engaging and caring and it is so obvious to see how passionate she is. My little girl has been attending classes for a while now and they have been a real pleasure to attend and she looks forward to going to see Reading Fairy each week. From singing on stage with Music Mouse to Storytelling made fun with interactive props, she always has the best time. It’s hard to put into words how special a class Reading Fairy is. My daughter started as a shy 18month old and with the help of the wonderfully engaging and constructive classes she has blossomed in confidence over the last year and a half. She has amazed her nursery staff (and us parents!) with her knowledge of phonics and recognises letters in different settings outside of the classes. A Week in the Life of a Franchisee

Here’s Kayleigh’s week, running Reading Fairy Isleworth:

Monday

Starting the week with classes in Isleworth, whoop! After dropping her children off at school, Kayleigh arrives at 9:30am ready for the first class to start at 10:15am.

Kayleigh runs 3 classes on Mondays and is finished by 2pm.

After classes she has time for social media admin, leafleting in the area and general marketing as she doesn’t do school pick up today.

Monday evenings are family time.

Tuesday

No classes on Tuesdays so the perfect time to catch up on life admin and some me time.

Wednesday

Wednesdays are work admin days – lesson plan preparation, customer messages etc.

Thursday

Classes in Twickenham today. No morning school run for Kayleigh so she arrives at the venue at 9am ready for classes to start at 9:45am. She runs 2 classes and is packed up by 12:30pm.

Kayleigh organises her class week to start on Fridays – that way she can forget about work on weekends and concentrate on her family. So, Thursday afternoon is equipment switch over time, before picking her children up from school.

Friday

Classes in Whitton today! Again, no school drop off for Kayleigh so she’s at the venue by 8:45am, ready for the first class to start at 9:30am. 3 classes on Fridays, and she’s ready to go by 1:30pm.

Friday afternoons she’ll check her emails and messages, and the rest is family time.

Weekends

Kayleigh prioritises family time at the weekend but will sometimes run events or birthday parties.
